We’re very excited to see so many new people registering for Druid Fest. Some of these new faces have been to Thornhaven for the first time in the last few months, and some are completely new to the land! We can’t wait to meet you!

Druid Fest is fast approaching and the program is quickly coming together.

In addition to the daily events (listed in a previous blog post), we have some fascinating workshops and events for you to experience!

• Poetry and Music with Jeff
• Trance meditation, followed by an Ancestors Ritual with Rev. Julie Desrosiers
• Discover the world of Oghams with Jeff and delve into Runes with Rick Lutes
• Learn how to extract and process Nettle Fibers, then weave them into a sacred rope
• Learn new songs as you Waulk the cloth with Meri Fowler and Rev. Julie
• Hobbes will take you on a journey to the Veil to reconnect with your ancestors

And as we do every year, there will be a Bardic on Friday, and a potluck community supper on Saturday.

Meet the New Arch Druid!

Did you hear that ADF has a new Arch-Druid? Rev. Jan Avende will join us at Druid Fest via a Zoom session. They will be happy to answer your questions and discuss whatever is on your mind.

Of course, we would much prefer to meet with Arch-Druid Jan in person, but with the current political climate between our two great nations, it’s best that we not risk their safety.

Registration for Druid Fest is now open. If you pre-register for Druid Fest, you can save up to $10 per person! Due to available camping spots at Thornhaven, spots are limited, so pre-register today to ensure you can attend with the finest Druids in Inkerman!

Here are just some of the features of Druid Fest that await you in June:

• A refreshing pond to reinvigorate the spirit!
• Interesting workshops centered around the theme of Druid Fest: Calling Our Ancestors
• Rituals that will put you in touch with your ancestors beyond the Veil.
• Live music, warm fires, and living Druids!

This year’s theme is Calling to the Ancestors, so our workshops and events mostly center around this idea. Who are our ancestors? How do they engage with us? Are they even relevant to our modern age?

These are just some of the ideas that we’ll be exploring under the lush canopy of ancient trees of Thornhaven. We’re collecting workshop ideas and events as we speak, but to give you a sneak peek, here’s what we’re offering so far:

• Every morning starts with Coffee and Piety when we gather around a steaming cup of tea or coffee, getting ready for the day ahead.
• With the idyllic backdrop of the Thornhaven pond, Isabeau is offering a session of Daily Yoga to realign our energies with the heartbeat of the land. An excellent start to the day!
• Thornhaven features a diversity of plant life, so our own Jeff can take you on an Herb Walk tour, identifying the plants that our ancestors would have depended on in daily life.
• Our Senior Druid Tasha will explore the complex ideas and emotions surrounding death and its impact on our lives in her Death Cafe.
• Learn how our ancestors would have constructed their dishware with David and Leah as they teach you how to make Clay Pots!

And that’s just a few of the events that await you at Druid Fest! We have room in the schedule for more events and workshops, so if you have any ideas to share, send them to our Program Druid Hobbes and we can find a spot to nestle it in.

Welcome to Druid Fest, the brainchild of the ADF Thornhaven Grove in Inkerman, Ontario.

Before Druid Fest came to be, it lived a different life as the Three Rivers ADF Festival. This was a sacred Neo-Pagan event with over 10 years of history as the premiere Canadian ADF Druid festival. We all enjoy fond memories of being brought together with our fellow Druids around sacred bonfires and the natural splendors of the Ontario wilderness.

But as the years flew by, so did the wheels of change and evolution. In the early days of Three Rivers, different Groves hosted the event and it changed locations a few times, eventually settling into its new home of Thornhaven Grove.

So in this new, post-pandemic world, we decided it was time for a change and to look more outward than inward. ADF Druidry has much to offer to the Neo-Pagan communities and we wanted to broaden our vision.

Hence, Druid Fest was born and we are re-invigorated.

So stay tuned to this site for more information. The dates for Druid Fest 2025 are June 5th to the 8th (Thursday to Sunday). And the theme for Druid Fest 2025 is Ancestors.
